After years of creating visual effects and designing title sequences, Randy Balsmeyer has transitioned into live-action directing. Applying his eye and skill set to story and actors is a natural extension of his filmmaking talents.
Randy directed the “transitions. for New York. I Love You, weaving together stories and characters from ten separate shorts into a single world. He created a night on the town for 30 Rock using green screen, so the actors never had to leave the studio. And he directed a group of eight year-olds at the US Mint to create a flashback scene For the beginning of Dear John.
